Why the focus on Nostr?

As I share my thoughts and ideas, you'll notice I frequently mention Nostr. That's because it is way more than social media, way more than a Twitter killer.

Nostr is a nascent technology that enables unbridled information sharing and expression of ideas. The protocol, which is particularly suited to social media applications, was launched in reaction to the increasingly controlled messaging on mainstream internet platforms. This is particularly important to me because I believe that restrictive information-sharing is being used to stifle society's ability to develop, cooperate, and challenge the status quo.

Not everything happening to day is bad, of course not, but there is too much that needs to be done better, and that requires cooperation across all borders, be that physical or metaphorical. Echo chambers are an example of controlled social media platforms, where algorithms push you in a certain direction. Nostr puts the responsibility on you to find your way.
