What is Value for Value again?

If you arrived via the Newsletter page, sorry, I meant to say, there is a photo plus short piece on V4V, a new way to support your favourite creators and producers in your community.

What is Value for Value (V4V)?

V4V is a new revenue model that eliminates the need for middlemen and advertising. It allows consumers to directly support the creators they love by sending small payments of appreciation for their work. You can send one-off tips in minuscule or massive amounts, as you wish, when you wish, as the moment takes you. It can be for a blog post, a video, a music track, or after reading a few free newsletters that you can't afford to make a monthly payment on.

How does it work?

Thanks to Bitcoin Lightning and phone wallets, sending small payments is now easier and more affordable than ever.

• Download a Lightning Wallet from your preferred App Store
• Add a few dollars' worth of Bitcoin. The smallest units are called Sats.
  • earn sats listening to podcasts on Fountain or Wavlake or post on Nostr
  • sell something for sats
  • pay for your bitcoiner friend's dinner and ask them to send you some sats in return.

When you are operational, use your phone wallet to scan a QR code to make a payment. Like the one here for Olive Grove Eggs.

With this system creators can receive direct support from their audience, without having to rely on advertising or intermediaries. In return, creators can focus on producing high-quality content that resonates with their audience.
